Regrettable Incident at Taman Desa

On Saturday 08/09/2012 at approximately 4.50pm, an unpleasant incident of harsh exchange occurred at the Taman Desa Community Centre where an individual who is also a TDRA Committee member made allegations that a gentleman of over 70 years of age was purportedly beaten up by Committee Member(s) of TDP1RA to several TDP1RA Committee Members who were at the Community Centre. When TDP1RA Committee Members responded that the allegation made was not true and asked for evidence in support a heated verbal exchange started. The TDRA Committee member turned aggressive and went to the extent of "dislodging from his Motorbike and throwing his crash helmet on the floor" whilst uttering profanities & swearing. He went to the extent of racial abuse openly asking why TDP1RA Committee member(s) support people of a different race! Throughout the 10 to 15 minute incident the TDRA Committee member appeared to be provoking for retaliation. It was fortunate that common sense & rational minds prevailed and the TRP1RA Committee members chose not to react in a physical manner. 

The incident is much regrettable for the following reasons:

1)   The individual who is also a TDRA Committee member instead of making allegations should have attempted to seek clarification and neutralize/dispel stories which are rumours and unsubstantiated. Community Leader shall not provoke and fuel unsubstantiated stories which divide a community.

2)   Public behaviour that is unbecoming of a Community Leader is unfortunate. 

3)   Stirring up racial sentiments openly can be deemed seditious & threatens Public Peace & Order.

Moving forward, we urge readers of this article in particular residents from Taman Desa & its surrounding to check with the right sources when they hear rumors & allegations of impropriety & violence. 

Our enemies are the Burglars, Snatch Thieves, Carjackers etc. who are Criminals, NOT residents which, the guarded community serves to protect. Much effort has been put into the security system in place. It has proven its effectiveness. Detractors now want to see the scheme Fail & collapse.
