A two-week campaign Ops Selamat, which runs from Aug 15 to Aug 25 was launched in Taman Desa by Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh in conjunction with the coming Raya celebration.
"The Ops Selamat approach is the brainchild of Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar who decided to change what was previously known as Ops Sikap to Ops Selamat this year.
Ops Selamat focuses on ensuring that house owners secure their properties before leaving for Hari Raya holidays as well as urging them to be safe on the road.
This Ops Selamat would involve traffic policemen, General Duty personnel, Air Unit and Marine Police to ensure smooth traffic flow, to minimise accidents on road and at sea, as well as to prevent house break-ins,
We the committees of TDP1RA are honoured that Taman Desa was chosen as a launching pad for the campaign.
Our Kawasan Rukun Tetangga Taman Desa chairman Mr. Siva Ananthan delivered the speech on behalf of Taman Desa residents.
All present were treated to a buka puasa dinner by Kuala Lumpur Police.
