TAMAN DESA PHASE 1 SECURITY ALERT AND UPDATES

4 July 2011: Dear Residents, we understand that there has been hearsay and rumours circulating about cases of break-ins and security breaches. We take this opportunity to update you on the facts of the matter after having had obtained the facts from the Balai Polis Brickfields.

We have confirmed with Insp. George that there has been a spate of break-ins over the last month. Except for one incident which involved a residence along Jalan Desa Utama which is NOT COVERED under the present Neighbourhood Security Scheme, all other incidents involved residences in Phase 2.

As for a so called incident at Linkungan Desa, THERE WAS NO BREAK-IN and NO LOSS suffered whatsoever. If anything, it was the alertness and prompt response from the Security Team which deterred any untoward incident. As such, we urge you NOT TO LISTEN to rumours being spread by certain person(s) who appear to have the intention to see the collapse of the present Neighbourhood Security Scheme collapse thus openly exposing our families’ security and safety.

This is a major concern for ALL residents of Taman Desa regardless whether they live in Phase 1 or 2. Whilst those of us within the Phase 1 Guarded Community thank our blessings our prayers go out to our friends and families living in Phase 2. Notwithstanding that we at Phase 1 have been fortunate thus far, we have to acknowledge the fact that the Phase 1 Security System currently in place have served as a significant deterrent.

We are not resting on our laurels and past track record. If anything, the past record on serves to give us greater impetus to ensure that the present Security Scheme continues with greater strength and vigilance making Taman Desa Phase 1 the Neighbourhood Of Choice and Model for Guarded Neighbourhood. It is with this as our objective that we have further tightened Security in Phase 1 with effect from 1 July 2011 as follows:

1. All vehicles WITHOUT A VALID car sticker will be subjected to some form of verification by Security Personnel at all points of ingress and egress. There will be no exception. This
WILL CREATE SOME INCONVENIENCE.

2. We are working closely with Kawasan Rukun Tetangga Taman Desa whereby RT patrols / residents on RT Patrol will be exercising the Police Authority to stop, check and verify persons and vehicles entering the Kawasan Rukun Tetangga area.

3. The security service provider has been changed to Rekal Jaya Security Sdn Bhd (RJSSB) as the earlier security service provider Perisai Sepadu Security Sdn Bhd (PSSSB) has not been able to meet KPIs set the Committee with particular reference to the Security SOP implementation. RJSSB just like PSSSB is subject to a Probationary Period whereby their performance is closely monitored by the Committee of TDP1RA.

For residents who have yet subscribed, we urge you to do so soonest possible. We believe that we all value our family safety and security. Hindsight and events which have unfolded since 1 April 2010 have shown the need for an effective Neighbourhood Security System. Up until now, we have in Phase 1 a system that is effective. We hope that those who have not signed up to subscribe immediately.

The more subscribers we have, the better our ability to lower the overall cost and of course, lesser inconvenience when entering and exiting and MOST IMPORTANTLY, we are able to better identify vehicles which DO NOT BELONG TO MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY thus requiring security attention.

We hope to achieve close to 100% subscription and as we approach this target, force Burglars and Robbers to take us off their radar screen. With this we should be living in a Safe and Peaceful Community called Taman Desa.

Thank you

Yours faithfully

JACK LEW SAU KUAN
President

  1. Still can see that the security guards did not check/stop to see the car stickers, they just simply open the gate for the outsider car to pass through.
TDRA committee please inform the guards to be more alert.
